      Designer/Laborer

In this position I would perform field surveys and collect data such as property easements, grades, utility locations and other information using parcel maps, pictures and utilizing various survey equipment in order to obtain field measurements. I would then use this information to draft accurate plans used on the job-site during construction. I created detailed plans to evaluate take-offs for accurate cost analysis of the project. I developed knowledge of local regulations and standards as I prepared and submitted permit applications to the various surrounding cities and counties. I assured these standards were considered in my designs. I started this position as a laborer and promoted to a technical lead position. This experience gave me an intimate knowledge and experience of all aspects of construction from design, permitting, construction labor, and completion. Show less

      Engineering

In this position I work closely with our Senior Engineer focusing on multi modal transportation. I work with the community, local advocates, the 50 Corridor TMA and the Sacramento Area Council of Governments(SACOG) to implement programs promoting bicycle and pedestrian activity and safety. I had a significant role developing both the City Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plans and developed the City program to be recognized as a Bicycle Friendly City. To help fund implementation of these plans I have acquired multiple grants through Safe Routes to School, Highway Safety Improvement Program, and additional grants through the Sacramento Area Council of Governments. I provide grant implementation and administration, tracking budgets and ensuring projects are implemented on schedule, meeting all labor requirements and funding requirements. As the Traffic Engineering program manager I manage the daily operations of all city traffic monitoring and standards. I manage contracts for collecting volume and speed data as well as defining speed limits and managing the collision database. I also manage the City Neighborhood Traffic Management Program, working with the public and a committee to implement temporary and permanent traffic control solutions. As the City ADA Coordinator I manage the City ADA Transition Program, maintaining complex standards and working with the disabled community to address any concerns. I have coordinated "in house" training on the city bicycle fleet and presented trending bicycle and pedestrian improvements to City Staff. I have represented the City on regional bicycle and pedestrian planning committees, the local TMA, and multiple outreach and local coordination efforts. As my professional references may attest I learn very quickly and am highly competent to manage new programs and tasks with professionalism. Show less
