  Working as in an area earmarked for Rebuilding activities of a Coke Oven Battery which had run almost 20 yrs in the previous campaign (cf. Conceptualization to commissioning)—the rebuilt battery is to meet emission norms laid down by MOEF, GOI.Experience:• Remained as Head of Coal Chemicals recovery division having strength of 300 employees inclusive of all disciplines till Feb’09.o Average NSR out of Sale amounts to Rs. 90 Crores per annum (FY 08-09).• Independent handling of major chemical units based on West-German technology to facilitate optimum recovery of tar and tar products out of a continuous tar distillation unit (cf. 300 TPD processing).o Sufficient exposure in the making of aluminum grade pitch (various grades) out of straight run pitch and controlled air blowing.o Joined as graduate engineer trainee in SAIL, RSP way back in June, 74.o After initial in plant training; posted in By-Products Plant in July’75 for further development and exposure to coal chemicals recovery.o Spent nearly 35 years in various capacities in the department covering wide range of areas which include primary production, dispatch, project implementation, process improvement, coordination with sales and marketing for continual improvement and growth.Projects Handled:• Commissioning of Vapor Absorption Heat Unit to facilitate COG cooling cum removal of impurities further.• Commissioning of Spray Saturator Complex (both gas and salt sections) to facilitate recovery of ammonia out of raw COG and fixing the same as Ammonium Sulphate Salt.• Up gradation of units of CCD (Phase – I).Trainings Abroad: I was nominated and sent to Voest Alpine; Linz (Austria) under SAIL’s HRD Programs in 1992(Nov-Dec’92).
