  My responsibilities as a Nokia-Siemens Networks intern included working with SAP software, translating from Bulgarian to English and assisting the head of the accounting office in carrying out her tasks such as filling tax forms, preparing invoices, etc. The reason why I was selected for the internship among all candidates was because of my fluency in English language and especially my knowledge of IT technical terms acquired during the time when I was working part-time as a translator for a computer magazine. My advanced computer skills also turned out to be very useful since one of the tasks assigned to me included transferring the company’s old database into a new platform. During the course of the internship I had the chance to see how accounting works in a large firm. My colleagues were very supportive and I really felt as a part of the company. By interacting with the other Nokia-Siemens employees I also learned a lot about the newest trends in IT technology and further enriched my IT knowledge. Show less

  The internship program is designed for students specializing in the field of Economics and it is aimed to familiarize them will the various aspects of the banking business in order to facilitate their integration into the professional life. My responsibilities as an intern included analyzing financial statements, preparing preliminary valuations for companies, sorting clients’ files, visiting universities to promote the bank’s student products such as student loans and student saving accounts. I was also consulting the clients on which of SG Bank’s offered products suit their needs the best.During the course of the internship program I had the unique opportunity to plunge into the real working environment and watch from the inside how the bank and its employees operate. The friendly and supportive atmosphere at Societe Generale Bank made me feel as a part of their team and that is when I understood that the banking sector is where I want specialize and work.
