      Dec 2021 - now

Over the last 12 years I have taught Secondary school Computer Science (ICT). The curriculum for this subject includes Computational Thinking, Algorithmic Problem Solving, Software Development, Database Development, Programming, Information Systems, eCommunication, Networking and Computer Theory. I have, subsequently, developed a Coding Curriculum for Primary School and one for Junior High schoolers that includes Web Development, Animation, Desktop Publishing, YouTubing, Game Development and Movie Making.Being able to draw on experiences from a wide range of industries, has helped support my transition into higher education. My current role involves me organising the Teaching and Learning context, within the Department of Education primarily and within the wider context of the faculty secondarily, so that all staff habitually employ higher order learning processes in their practices, through the incorporating of technologies.I have completed a Bachelor Degree (Computer Science), Honours Degree (Maths and Science), Masters Degree (Computer Science Education) and am currently working towards my PhD. Show less My secondment as a Senior Lecturer and Module Leader, BEd (Hnrs) Digital Learning Design, has extended the work I continue to do as a Senior Learning Technologist. I have long been involved in design and delivery of teaching that is engaging, innovative and responsive, achieving outstanding student learning outcomes all while piloting innovative teaching practices. I continue to be actively engaged in high quality research and scholarly practice activity that informs and extends the teaching and learning landscape within our department. More than this, the pilot work I have had oversight on, has transformed digital education deployment across the university. I continue to expand the reach of my knowledge exchange by incorporating external engagement, alongside academic leadership, in all that I do. Show less
