      Curriculum and Teacher Training Advisor to the Ministry of Education of Mali. In this USAID-funded $28 million USAID funded project, I provided technical assistance to the MOE, focusing on 3 components: curriculum development, teacher training, and community mobilization. Responsible for supervising and coordinating all curriculum development and teacher training technical assistance provided through the Ministry of Education. Assisted the MOE in the development of a new national basic education curriculum and a new teacher training policy model. The new curriculum introduced national languages as a medium of instruction in early grades and a new literacy-based instructional approach. Provided technical assistance in the development of all curricular materials, including teacher guides, textbooks, teacher training programs and literacy assessment instruments. Show less

The goal of the project was to provide education and economic alternatives for disenfranchised youth, including technical education and vocational training, to increase employability and to provide alternatives to abusive forms of labor. Responsibilities included strategic planning, project design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation, staff development and supervision, financial oversight, grants management, compliance with USDOL and Winrock regulations and procedures, reporting, and collaboration with donors, government counterparts (Ministry of Education and Ministry of Labor), and other partner international agencies.       Time to Learn (TTL) was USAID/Zambia’s flagship program for improving education quality in community schools. TTL supported the Ministry of Education in developing a model for improving students’ reading performance and providing scholarship support and psychosocial services to orphans and vulnerable children and youth (OVCs) in community and secondary schools.As a COP, I was responsible for overall administrative, financial and technical management and compliance of this national 5 years $30 million education project.       USAID-Jordan - Early Grade Reading and Math Initiative / RAMPThis initiative has engaged the MOE in a major global reform to improve the quality of reading and mathematics instruction in early grades of public primary schools, including the development and institutionalization of curricula, national assessment framework and instruments to measure and monitor reading improvement, an accredited national teacher continuous professional development and coaching program and a national literacy strategy. The project has managed to substantially lift up reading and mathematics scores in early grades, and to progress toward a more inclusive and resilient education system. Show less
