    • Aarhus School of Business, Handelshøjskolen i Århus (ASB)

      Aug 2001 - May 2005

I started to work in the Central Communication Department at a time when Aarhus School of Business was rebranding itself. I helped with the introduction of a new logo and design and the development of a completely new website. I was also involved in the introduction and development of career services to students through a new jobbank as well as contact to alumni (former students), sending out periodical newsletters. For a couple of years while I was a student, I was giving IT introduction courses to new bachelor students on PowerPoint design, basic use of Word and Excel, basic web page design and photo editing.

      Alumni Relations Manager

My job as Alumni Relations Manager was to develop relations to alumni (former students) by involving and engaging our alumni in what's going on at their alma mater, facilitate relations between alumni/current students/faculty/staff as well as by making sure that we had got a range of offers which help our alumni prosper in their professional lives and careers. My areas of responsibility/expertise included: Team leadership, strategic planning and development, budget planning, relationship management (CRM), communication, marketing, event management, social media strategy, ICT development and user feedback (evaluations, surveys, advisory board).Over the years from 2006-2012, I and my colleagues managed to make it from virtually nothing to a comprehensive alumni programme with 10,000+ members. • Aarhus University

      Aug 2011 - Apr 2017

I was part of a small team responsible for Aarhus University’s CRM platform (Microsoft Dynamics) used by various departments to support communication activities, event management, sales processes etc.My work included support and counselling to colleagues, data management, system integrations as well as contact to our external provider and IT developers.I also counseled my organisation and colleagues from across it on the development of alumni relations and was responsible for maintaining and developing Aarhus University’s alumni portal with 25,000+ registered users (a SharePoint solution integrated with our CRM). Related to the portal, I edited and sent out a bi-monthly newsletter to 10,000 alumni (40+% average open rate, 10+% average click rate).Visit www.alumner.au.dk to find out more (and if you're affiliated with Aarhus University: join!) the alumni network. Show less As Team Leader for Aarhus University’s alumni (former students) relations department, I was overseeing and at the same time highly engaged in the daily business of my team. My responsibilities included:• Strategic development of Aarhus University’s alumni activities• Financial management and reporting of my team’s activities• Various internal and external presentations• Providing services to internal and external stakeholders, including 40,000+ students, 10,000+ employees and 100,000+ alumni – both Danish and international• Data management/CRM• User surveys• Event planningThis was an extremely rewarding job, since it allowed me to make a difference not only for Aarhus University as an institution but also for a lot of people on a very personal level. Networking has always been an important part of my job, and one of the things I have enjoyed most is to act as a "connector" and help bring the right people together.I cared deeply for the development of both my team as a whole and the individual team members (which summed up to two full-time staff members and a handful of student assistants) and took pride in making sure that our work was of high quality and that we had a good working relationship with all colleagues and partners. My team’s main goals were about long term engagement, but we still managed to continuously deliver impressive growth rates in number of members, high click rates for our communication activities and high participation and satisfaction levels for our events and offers. I’m proud to say that I and my team were highly respected for the services and results we delivered by both our main internal and external stakeholders as well as colleagues from other higher education institutions in Denmark and around the world.
