  Swanzey Fire Department serves the 46 square mile municipality of Swanzey, NH. Swanzey answers approximately 1,000 calls for service a year. It is the largest on call department in the State of NH.• Maintained active status with the department in addition to regular employment and schooling.• Was a top responding member of the department for several years during my tenure at Keene State College• Founded and was acting president of the Swanzey Firefighters Association.2 year full time internship with the Swanzey Fire Department in Swanzey, NH. Wrote and developed the first fire internship curriculum at Keene State College; Internship has expanded and continues to present day. Internship was comprehensive and broad in its experience. ACHIEVEMENTS: • Development of Fire Protection Index (FPI) used to gather data on target hazards.• Assisted and acted as principal inspector for many large scale commercial/industrial projects.• Assisted Fire Chief with origin&cause investigation for all fires during internship period.• Conducted Cost Benefit Analysis for sprinkler protection of local schools, presented information to school board.• Wrote Fire Investigation Grant in 2009 (AFG).• Successfully secured US Fish & Wildlife, NH shore land protection permits for expansion of fire station on riverfront.
