  Researching the effects of Gestational Diabetes on the astrocytic cells of both the mother and the infant. Cellular samples collected were from lab mice. Samples were examined under microscopes of varying power, including an electron microscope. Personal responsibilities included performing lab techniques, including primer design, sample preparation, operation of Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) machinery, Northern Blotting, Southern Blotting, Filtration, cryopreservation, microanalysis, and gel electrophoresis.   Collection, recording, handling, and processing of data concerning the clinical trials performed by the Medical College of Wisconsin. Personal project included rewording the clinical trials on Medical College of Wisconsin Clinical Trials website into Layman terms to allow greater participation from the population at large in clinical trials. Two primary studies were the use of a spinal implant on traumatic cervical spinal injury victims and its effects on improving mobility capabilities, and the investigation of a biomarker for concussions. Primarily involvement was concerned with the latter study. Personal responsibilities in the collection of blood samples from high school football players to use as a baseline for concussion samples included assistance in preparation of the equipment used, recording of data, and handling of samples collected.
