  I developed and implemented an original curriculum with daily lesson plans for 6th and 7th grade students in the areas of Literary Magazine, Arts, and Yoga with a specific focus on increasing each students growth in the areas of accountability, integrity and respect. I worked with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate student's progress and recommend appropriate learning plans, and communicated weekly with parents/guardians to discuss both strength's and areas of needed improvement regarding their child's performance. I redirected students using Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports (PBIS), and participated in and attended monthly workshops in the areas of behavior management and child development. I also assisted in organizing and leading multiple activities for Fall Family Fun Night, including transporting over 100 pumpkins in my car for a pumpkin painting activity! Show less

  I planned, constructed, and taught daily lesson plans in the topics of literacy and mathematics in both Kindergarten and 2nd Grade classrooms. During my experience, I assessed literacy levels using DIBELS and created lesson plans to target areas of remediation based on these results. I also attended collaborative meetings between staff, administration, and parents. I assisted in teaching after-school reading and writing courses for students. Additionally, I created and implemented unit plans focusing on differentiated instruction, monitored students' educational progress with individual charts and files, and assisted in collecting and preparing data and documents for report cards and parent teacher conferences. Finally, I established exceptional rapport with students through consistent displays of respect and caring. For this graded student teaching experience, I received a letter grade of "A". Show less

  I developed and executed a developmentally appropriate curriculum that incorporated various aspects of the Reggio Emilia approach and Montessori philosophy. I collaborated and communicated daily with teachers within the school as well as with various special education, speech and occupational therapists. In addition, I attended monthly team meetings, maintained a daily record of activities, behaviors, meals, and naps, and organized and maintained a clean, inviting, and warm classroom environment.   I planned and implemented both long- and short-range hands on activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practices, and program philosophy. I modeled and taught socially acceptable behaviors, employing techniques such as behavior modification, redirection, and positive reinforcement. In my daily lesson plans, I consistently differentiated activities and materials to ensure success for all students. I designed an effective room arrangement that supported the goals and development level of the children in the classroom. I served as the key point of contact between the parents and the school director, and communicated daycare rules to the parents while preserving and developing meaningful professional relationships with them. Additionally, I reached out to parents through daily messages, informal conversations and bi-annual parent-teacher conferences.
