My last project at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) aimed at developing a three year strategic plan as well a global influenza proficiency testing program for the Influenza Division. Prior to that, I completed a feasibility study for a not-for-profit organization to move into the Disaster Response sector as well as strategic plan for an education not-for-profit. In 2009, I conducted a process design assessment on the CDC Influenza Reagent Resource, a project aimed at distributing influenza diagnostic kits to public health labs in order to address the H1N1 pandemic. I developed a training program, facilitated stakeholder change adoption, and created a new organizational structure for the 100+ division staff. The project led to a reduction in cycle time from 17 to 6 weeks allowing the client greater marketing flexibility for the holiday sales season, and helped to uncover $6M in annual savings. Previously, I led the change management work stream for a maintenance repair and operations (MRO) system implementation for an international aircraft manufacturer. I developed training and communications plans for 700+ staff and coordinated process mapping and system requirements gathering efforts. Prior to my work in MRO, I supported the organizational change work stream on an IT strategy project with a national voluntary health organization. I was responsible for working with the IT executive team to generate the future state organizational model, conducting a skills assessment, and creating detailed position descriptions. Leading a 20-person team, I uncovered strategic insights and build operational visibility across six business functions: sales, onboarding, customer success, product support, customer education, and international growth.Since assuming this role, I have proven the critical importance of these customer-facing teams in growing and retaining Mailchimp's customer base, resulting in a 6x increase in team headcount. My strategies have delivered significant value to over a third of Mailchimp's customers, generating $60M through increased sales and reduced churn over the past year.To drive Mailchimp’s international growth, I spearheaded analyses of sales and product usage across different languages and geographies. Based on these insights, I developed a global expansion framework and roadmap, accelerating our efforts to translate the app into 5 languages, transition to regional Sales and Customer Success models, and conduct large-scale pricing tests for developing markets. These initiatives have positioned Mailchimp to double its international revenue within the next three years.
