      Project – Optimization & simulation of heat exchanger in MSQ plant (Vadodara Refinery, Gujarat)• Analysed the operations of the Motor Spirit Quality plant in order to identify the cause of reduced production• Proposed the use of a spare heat exchanger to prevent liquid temperatures to rise above the allowable limit• Designed and simulated a heat integration network using Aspen Plus software to reduce water utility requirement • The proposal helped in reducing the liquid outlet temperatures as well as using the extracted heat in a boiler, thus saving up 2Cr operational costs per year with a minimal one with investment Show less

      Project – Indian Coal Feasibility Analysis for Boiler Operations (JSW Energy Ltd, Ratnagiri, Maharashtra)• Analyzed the 1200 MW power plant operations with regard to the use of Indian coal to reduce cost of production• Identified various technical and logistical limitations and constraints to be overcome and achieve replacement of imported coal with Indian counterpart, thus incurring operational savings of INR 0.5/KWh • Prepared a comprehensive list of modifications for the existing infrastructure including a new coal crusher installation, upgradation ESP, Boiler modification to safeguard it from high ash found in Indian coal• Developed a feasibility-analysis economic model that calculated the necessary capital expenditure and corresponding savings incurred for the input of any desired coal-mix.
