Established metrics and aligned the department with world-class best practices for predictive and preventative maintenance.• Achieved a 50% reduction in maintenance downtime for 2005 vs. 2004. Accountable for equipment reliability and availability (OEE), labor relations, capital projects, performance to budget, environmental compliance, energy sustainability, and safety performance. • Negotiated a maintenance “craft training” program with USW that merged 7 trades into 2 pay-for-skill job classifications. Saved $200K in the first year. • Member of 2013 contract negotiation team. Negotiated 3-year contract saving the company $657K annually and realized an additional one-time accrual savings of $1MM for medical insurance.• Implemented Oracle R12 eAM enterprise CMMS in the Americas. Mentored and trained a maintenance supervisor to lead implementation in four mills with support from corporate IT. • Sponsored Continuous Improvement Teams to improve OEE. OEE increased from 70% to 80% and progressed waste reduced from 28% to 19%.• As a member of the mill leadership team, implemented Quality Environmental Health and Safety management system (QEHS) achieving certification in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001. Project came in $300K under budget and 6 months ahead of schedule, earning SWM an additional $200K profit each month above and beyond the project ROI. Press is running 20% more throughput than identical press previously installed. Later moved second printing press in storage in Poland to SC.• Led environmental, health, and safety audit of newly acquired plastics manufacturer in USA and China.
