  Towards the end of my schooling, I worked at Baker's Delight for around 12 months as a shopfront assistant. This was a very straightforward job, helping me to learn the basics of customer service and food safety. I decided to leave this job to focus on my HSC.

  This was my first job post-school. I was able to use my work experience from HSC Hospitality to navigate and work well in a commercial kitchen. Primarily, I helped to prepare and cook food as well as take orders and waiter.The club also hosted private events, often with 150+ guests. During such functions, I would co-coordinate the plating up and serving of several courses to each of the guests.Above all else this job taught me how to work fast and how to co-ordinate effectively with others.   After finishing University, I spent the next two years of my life working on an entrepreneurial venture - writing and publishing a book to help address the void of information between school and adult life."The Life Manual" was officially published during August 2017 and has sold over 1000 copies. It is now FREE on Apple and Google.Apart from the obvious of writing and editing, I learnt and strengthened some very valuable skills while undertaking this venture. This included research skills, time management skills, communication skills (with publishers), marketing skills and of course creativity skills. Show less

  I worked for Coles for over three and a half years with the majority of my employment during the very intense, two year operations graduate program. I learnt an immense amount at the company, being exposed to multiple roles and sectors of the business (outlined below).By far the biggest skills I learnt were management based - having to manage entire departments and sometimes entire stores with hundreds of customers and team in the store at any one time.Some unique highlights from the program include: Co-coordinating a 200+ store & senior leadership event, conducting new hire interviews/inductions of over 400+ Team Members and speaking in front of 300+ people at a Coles leadership event.
