      Engineering Intern

Served four summers in the engineering group for Scientific Research Corporation. Assigned the task of analysis and statistics development for the DMOC’s Virtual Flag exercise. Researched IEEE 1278.1a DIS Protocol Data Unit (PDU) formats and rules for transmission. Followed guidelines of the SRC engineering team to develop data collection, data analysis tools and procedures. Development required automated filtering, parsing, and extraction of data from robust comma separated values (.csv) files. Designed and scripted the Formative Information & Statistics Harvester (FISH) to compile statistics and locate desired data from PDU log files. Created a FISH user’s manual for extemporaryusers.Conceived and established multiple techniques to analyze data and locate definite and potentially problematic data. Provided numerous explanations for unresolved technical issues. Developed an SQL database of exercise data in tandem with bandwidth analysis software. Designed multiple templates and documents to characterize results for SRC engineering group. Provided technical support for integration and testing of remote and internal simulation systems. • Scientific Research Corporation

      Jan 2009 - Dec 2010
      Systems Engineer

Served as the systems engineer for the Extended Air Defense Simulation (EADSIM), US Army PATRIOT Air and Missile Defense system, US Army THAAD Ballistic Missile Defense System, and US Navy Aegis Combat System. Alternate Systems Engineer for the F-15E tactical fighter system and DMOC Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) filter, a system used to provide interoperability, survivability, and compensate for deficiencies between simulation applications.Lead systems engineer for JKCE, a semi-annual simulation exercise supporting the training and evaluation of US Army Air Defense Artillery Fire Control Officers (ADAFCOs). While serving as lead engineer, 67 ADAFCOs were evaluated.Lead systems engineer for the Army Mission Rehearsal Exercise, a simulation exercise supporting the pre-deployment certification of US Army 69th ADA BDE ADAFCOs. During this exercise, 6 ADAFCOs were certified. Approximately 54 Army personnel and 9 Air Control Squadron personnel received training.Developed an AMD simulation system called FireCUE. System serves as an interchangeable PATRIOT, THAAD, AN/TPY-2 (FBM) radar, or Aegis platform during simulation events that lack respective external participation, but are needed in the event to provide a high fidelity model for otherparticipants.Automated a method for generating test plan procedures using MS Excel and Visual Basic Application. This template significantly reduced time, from days to hours, to produce test plans and has been used by all DMOC system teams in preparation for numerous high profile warfighter exercises. Performed various types of data analysis to troubleshoot technical simulation issues. Authored test plans, system requirements, and technical reports in reference to topics that include large scale simulated events, integration testing of high fidelity warfighter and command and control platforms, and system specifications for enhancements to environment generators to provideincreased realism. Lead Systems Engineer

Served on the Research Development Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) contract for the USAF Distributed Mission Operations Center (DMOC) as a lead systems engineer for large scale distributed simulation events to include Virtual Flag (VF), Weapons School, and Joint Kill Chain Event (JKCE). Responsibilities entailed coordination with the Development, Operations, and Management (DO&M) contractors, Operational Subject Matter Experts (SME), Technical Support Contract (TSC) engineers, and acting as the TSC’s primary interface to government project leads. Other job responsibilities required coordination and development of contract deliverables, organizing and executing technical portion of Exercise Planning Conferences (EPC), giving technical briefings to multiple agencies locally and via VTC, defining various system requirements, and managing personnel and technical issues during integrationtesting and event execution. Senior Consultant

Served on the Survivability/Vulnerability Information Analysis Center (SURVIAC) contract for the Nuclear Analysis Branch (NCAA) at the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC). Conducted research on stockpile sustainment issues and developed a plan to improve the NCAA stockpile sustainment models. Supported the Nuclear Analysis Database development effort by transcribing robust amounts of data and streamlining the transcription processes. Performed autopsies on multiple supply and logistics models to identify strengths and weaknesses, and a way ahead for each model. Developed a configuration management database using MS Access for the Nuclear Hardness Database System (NHDBS) Enclave. Show less
