  I was Section Engineer for the Severn & Ableton Tunnels, part of the GWRM electrification programme. Managing the planning, H&S and quality for all aspects of the OLE installation of the tunnel for ABC. The chosen OLE system for the >7Km Severn Tunnel is the Furrer + Frey ROCS (Rigid Overhead Conductor Rail System). The majority of the works were completed in the six-week blockade (Autumn 2016) the largest possession in the structures history (130years).   In my role as Site Agent, I am overseeing the scope creation and letting of contracts prior to eventual delivery for the fit out of a MOD facility in Berkshire. Under a professional services form of contract, Costain acts as Construction Manager for the client. This has given me the opportunity to work on behalf of the client, managing his contractors to safely deliver the product. The project involves a variety of engineering disciplines which will all have to be accepted by the statutory authority prior to being made operational. Show less
