      Graduate Lecturer

As part of the responsibility of our Master's program, the department of English required all students teach at least two semesters of the four semester commitment. I elected to teach all four semesters. The responsibilities included:- A 1/1 teaching load. Classes were planned, taught, and managed within a formal structure of teaching mentorships working within peer groups.- Managing diverse classrooms of both traditional and nontraditional students.- Activity in the UWYO English teaching community.- Email and professional relationships with a wide variety of students with varying levels of competency, engagement, and academic ability.Classes Taught:All classes taught were writing courses, emphasizing improving student's writing and editing abilities. My philosophy for improving my student's writing was multiple papers across the semester, each with a draft cycle including multiple drafts, peer review, and extensive one-on-one conferencing with me over editing their work.English Composition- Entry-level English composition and writing course for freshman.- Focused on educating students in linguistic rhetoric, personal and professional communication. Introduction to Literature: Classic and Contemporary Mythology- Class focused on the progression of Western mythology, from ancient texts to contemporary media.- Included teaching theoretical approaches and understanding of literary theory.- Functioned as an upper level writing and rhetoric course aimed at non-Humanities students.
