Aug 2006 - Aug 2007IT Placement StudentI joined Lexmark on a year contract as part of my course at Bournemouth University, my role was classified as IT placement student and was a network support style of role. • IT Support: My manager and I were responsible for supporting 130 users across the UK based in different offices and maintaining the network and printers. My main responsibilities included software, hardware and network support this was either performed remotely or by personally going to visit the user or device. • Printer Support and Configuration: The printers were also my responsibility and I had to ensure they were all working and toner levels were maintained to prevent any user dissatisfaction. • Key Projects: While at this company I have been involved in two major projects, firstly a voice over IP migration and secondly the introduction of Blackberry mobile phones. As a result of the IT outsourcing a restructuring of the IT department was required and my manager was made redundant, for the final 6 months of my placement I was responsible for IT ordering, IT billing, IT training and managing the new employee from TCS.
