  First Project (Supervised by Dr. Joey Sheff):• Mapping the epitope of IGF1R by performing a series of covalent labeling, reduction, alkylation, and. digestion methods of proteins to analyze via LCMS, as well as performing intact mass analysis. • Ran various quantitative tests such as BCA protein assay, Folin-Lowry assay, and Bradford assay. • Performed qualitative tests such as SDS-PAGE for and liquids chromatography purity tests. Second Project (Supervised by Dr. Jennifer Hill):• Extraction, isolation, and purification of exosomes (from human serum) as candidate biomarkers for early cancer detection. • Performed quantitative LCMS (Xcalibur) to test for exosome purity in isolated samples.• Cast and ran SDS-PAGEs to use for Western Blotting as an immunofluorescence detection method. • Attempted different isolation methods such as SP3 magnetic beads, and exosome isolation kits. • Operated a MALDI TOF instrument and analyzed the collected mass spectra.
