  As a program assistant for Higher Achievement, my goal was to assist in closing the education gap by serving our underprivileged communities around Richmond. My duties were to ensure that high school placement information was available for all of our students and their families as well as relaying back to the Program Director and Staff. I would regularly make rounds to Binford, Boushall, and Henderson Middle Schools to ensure all program affiliated students had the tools and information needed to apply for Richmond Specialty Schools or Governor's Schools in and surrounding the Richmond Area. Through emails, meetings over the phone or in person, and through research we gathered all necessary information regarding deadlines, applications forms, application difficulties and requirements in order to help our young scholars succeed. Currently working towards my second bachelors degree in Computer Science with a minor in Computer Engineering. My reason for pursuing this degree is to gain better insight on technology and the impact it can and will have in our future. In combination with my current biology degree and my strong background in the medical/dental world, I believe understanding technology to this degree will be a powerful tool in accomplishing and innovating the future.
