      Despite only briefly returning to secondary teaching, I thoroughly enjoyed being back in the classroom. I was fortunate to have completed a short contract at Noosa District State High School and some supply days at Coolum State High School and Maleny State High School. As a supply teacher, I was expected to cover a number of different classes including, Maths, Science, Senior English and Social Sciences. I was also required to employ behaviour management strategies on a daily basis and ensure the student work left by the regular teacher was complete. Show less

      Under the direction of the Director, Governance and Risk Management, my role as UniSC's Risk and Compliance Adviser is to provide ongoing support and advice to all areas of the University on matters relating to risk mitigation, management and reporting as well as compliance obligations.My primary objectives are:- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies for risk and compliance management and work with risk and business stakeholders to strengthen risk management and compliance practices across the University.- Undertake risk assessments for key university initiatives and activities and assist with the identification and monitoring of risk mitigation strategies for the organisation’s critical risks.- Manage the University’s risk and compliance registers and reporting obligations.- Develop and implement second line oversight and monitoring plans with respect to compliance.- Assess any compliance issues within the first line and oversee the first line rectification of these.- Undertake control testing, including forming opinions of the design and operating effectiveness of controls and working with organisation units to strengthen processes.- Provide risk and compliance advice to the business and assist them to meet their regulatory obligations.- Develop and undertake training on risk and compliance related matters and deliver this training to key areas of the University.- Work with the Director, Governance and Risk Management to review and update second line plans and frameworks including fraud and corruption, business continuity, child protection and related risk documents.- Identify and implement initiatives to strengthen the management of the University’s risk and compliance obligations. Show less Under the broad direction of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global and Engagement), I built the foundations for the the International Partnership Team and had responsibility for all matters related to the University's agent network, institutional relationships and transnational partnership arrangements.My primary objectives included:- Built the foundations for the establishment of the International Partnerships Team- Provided leadership, management, and guidance to the International Partnerships Team in order for all recruitment agent and institutional partner due diligence, management, monitoring and compliance to be undertaken- Developed internal processes in line with relevant UniSC policies and procedures- Re-developed UniSC's external website to better capture information relating to the International Partnerships Team- Established and coordinated transnational partnership arrangements under the general guidance of Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global and Engagement) to achieve key objectives of the International Office plan- Reviewed, managed and renewed existing international institutional partnerships, contracts and programs across the globe Show less In my role as the Coordinator and Committees Officer in the Office of Governance and Risk Management, I provided continued administrative and technical support to the Program and Course Committee, Strategic COVID-19 Management Group, Pandemic Response Group and other Governance and Risk Management staff.I was also responsible for coordinating and managing the University's quarterly risk review process and reporting which involved consultation with all University departments, Schools, research centres and institutes. Additionally, I was responsible for ensuring the quarterly strategic action planning requirements were completed.
