Working within the womenswear department on knitwear and wovens, my duties were to ensure suppliers were meeting deadlines for shipping dates, communicating cost prices and maintaining the critical path, updating the current and next seasons range where needed. I would help to assist during fit sessions as well as scouting the current market for new ideas and opportunities, keeping a competitive head space. Skills for this role included, being confident in excel, communicating constantly with other teams and suppliers, staying level headed in a fast paced environment, being attentive and also having an eye for detail. Show less For this role my duties involved working closely maintaining the critical path, ensuring shipment dates, cost prices, stock levels and the current/next seasons range is all up to date. Communication was key as I worked alongside buyers and designers, but I would also be communicating directly with suppliers. I really enjoyed the fact pace of this position as well as the responsibility it entailed. This role was within the menswear department, which consisted of denim, casual trousers, jackets, shirts, shorts and smart tailor wear, so was a lot of responsibility, I was also, for a while the only member on the merchandising team for this department, I was therefore dealing with more than an average merchandising admin assistant, and would report directly to the head of department, I always kept a level head!
