    • Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force - Afghanistan

      May 2013 - Mar 2014
Foreign Military Advisor (AF/PAK Hand Position)

Initally the District Advisor Team Leader for Pachir-wa-Agam district, then later Provincial Advisor Team Leader for all Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan. Responsible for governance and development efforts as part of the Village Stability Operations (VSO) initiative. In Pachir-wa-Agam district (southern Nangarhar province), I was attached to the Special Forces ODA and focused on linking the local governance to the provincial and national government of Afghanistan, and ensured the district police chief was linked to the provincial police chief to receive the required equipment and pay for the sustainment of the Afghan Local Police program. Additionally, gathered tribal and village atmospherics to the gauge the success of the Afghan Local Police (ALP) program, and provided targeted development projects in support of the local government. Later, with the closure of the Pachir-wa-Agam site, I transition to become the Provincial Advisor Team Leader for all of Nangarhar province. Attached to the Special Forces AOB, the primary focus was coordinating with the provincial governor and provincal police chief to gain their support for the expansion of the ALP program into additional districts across Nangarhar. Additionally, I combined my efforts with the local Civil Affairs Team into a Integrated Provincial Advisor Team (IPAT) that allowed us to better focus our efforts governance and development in line with the AOB's security efforts. This model was adopted by CJSOTF-A and emulated in multiple other provinces across Afghanistan. Show less

    • US CENTCOM

      Apr 2014 - Jan 2015
      Opperations Officer and Exercise Planner

Assigned to the CENTCOM G6 Operations / Current Operations section (CCJ6-OO), as an operations action officer. During the initial rise of ISIS/ISIL in early summer of 2014, I was the primary CCJ6 representative on the Crisis Action Team developing and coordinating CENTCOM response operations. This continued for approximately two months until the response efforts transitioned into CENTCOM's normal operations. I was then assigned to be the lead communications planner for Exercise INVINCIBLE SENTRY, the annual combined, joint, and cross-agency counter-terrorism exercise conducted overseas in a different foreign nation annually. This required multiple overseas conferences in the host nation to coordinate communications planing and interoperability of all forces and units involved. Show less

    • Special Operations Joint Task Force - Afghanistan

      Aug 2015 - May 2016
Foreign Military Advisor (AF/PAK Hand Position)

Served as the principle advisor to the communications (G6) and later finance (G8) sections of the Afghan National Army's Special Operations Command (ANASOC) / Commando Division Headquarters. This position required daily interaction with my Afghan Counterparts. While initially serving as the advisor for the ANASOC G6, the primary focus was the training and expanded fielding of multiple HF, VHF, and UHF radio systems, with emphasis on the Harris RF-7800 and RF-7850 radios. Due to the unexpected early departure of the principle US advisor to the ANASOC G8, I was directed to transition into that position due to the priorities of the mission. As the principle ANASOC G8 advisor, I supervised three subordinate US Contractor Advisors as they mentored the specialty areas of payroll, acquisition, and budgeting. In partnership with the ANASOC G8, we developed ANASOC's three year budget estimate as part of an overarching Planing, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process. This action was critical to fully establish the ANASOC Division as a separate entity, funded directly through the Afghan Ministry of Defense. Show less
