I performed research and development on RF heating performance for medical device manufacturing. I performed randomized design of experiments to evaluate heating performance compared to material properties and characteristics.   I worked on angiography film reading and compiled an anatomical distance measurement database to help guide the development of a medical device. I wrote work plans and final reports for company. I designed and built a dynamic bench-top testing apparatus for a medical device. I designed the device using SolidWorks, lead the building process, and wrote and implemented computer code for the control and function of the testing apparatus.   My research interests include optical imaging modalities for visualizing and guiding light-based therapies, and biomedical imaging and optical spectroscopy of nano materials. My primary research involves the design and development of augmented microscopy, an imaging modality focused on improving surgical image guidance. The augmented microscope enables simultaneous visualization of both visible and near-infrared images in real time, within the oculars, under standard surgical illumination. My other research focuses on better understanding the optical properties of a novel agent previously developed in the lab, plasmon resonant liposomes. I work on characterizing the nonlinear phenomena exhibited by these nanoparticles through microscopy and spectroscopy. Show less

  Working in new product development of cardiac products. I provide leadership and training in structural heart therapies and imaging support combined with clinical expertise to assist product development. I lead publication strategies in collaboration with product specialists, leadership, and external research organizations for supporting product value statements. To help better understand fitness of use and product development boundary conditions, I support pre-clinical model development and perform pre-clinical and clinical image analysis with engineering teams. I remain involved with current treatment paradigms and knowledge sharing in the cardiac space through continual physician interactions and conference attendance. Show less
