      During this internship, I had the opportunity to work under the guidance of Advocate Smt Brijita Prakash, who was a Partner at Dua Associates at the time. I was primarily assigned research work in the area of Real Estate Laws. I compiled title reports for various sale documents and conducted research on various aspects of the Karnataka Land Reforms Act 1961, Karnataka Land Revenue Act 1964, and Indian Succession Act 1925. I also submitted a research paper on "Sale of Property belonging to a minor" as per Section 7 of the Transfer of Property Act 1882 and Section 11 of the Indian Contract Act 1872. Show less

      I had the privilege of interning under the esteemed guidance of Justice Sri B.M Shyam Prasad Sir at the Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka. Throughout my internship, I had the opportunity to observe High Court proceedings, analyze complex cases, and assist the Hon’ble Judge with research. My focus was primarily on ongoing Writ Appeal matters related to taxation, electricity, land disputes, and other related topics. I am incredibly grateful for the invaluable guidance and insights provided by Justice Sri B.M Shyam Prasad Sir.During the tenure, I researched and worked upon the following: ▪︎Provision 9.10 of Conditions of Supply of Electricity of the Distribution Licensees in the State of Karnataka Rules.▪︎The Registration of Apartment Association under the Karnataka Apartment Ownership Act 1972 and Karnataka Ownership Flats Act 1972.▪︎The Aggregator's License issue under Section 93 of the Motor Vehicles Act 1988.▪︎The Inter-state and Intra-state supply of Electricity under Section 11 of the Electricity Act 2003.▪︎Distinction between Agricultural land and Urban land under the Urban Land Ceiling Act 1976.▪︎Arbitration cannot be adopted in serious cases of fraud- Fraud is an exception to the Doctrine of Indoor Management.▪︎Observed and made case notes of the High Court proceedings related to Compensation Cess, Input Tax Credit, GST, Income Tax, and other matters. I assisted him in research and drafting, formulated legal opinions in favour of the Government of Puducherry, and prepared summary notes on various Special Leave Petitions. I had the privilege to observe important ongoing Supreme Court proceedings. I also gained some insight into the Supreme Court procedures and functioning. During the tenure, I researched and worked upon the following: ▪︎Is Order II Rule 2 of CPC an absolute bar and can a plaint be rejected upon its violation?▪︎Can adverse possession be claimed on Government lands? ▪︎Should the State be treated with the same parlance as of ordinary persons while construing Section 5 of the Limitation Act?▪︎Can Courts quash a POCSO case involving Section 6, based on mutual compromise between the parties? -Legal Opinion.▪︎Can Arbitrators award interest under Section 31(7) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act despite contractual restrictions? ▪︎Case summary reports on certain ongoing Special Leave Petitions.▪︎Grounds for granting bail in non-bailable offences, focusing on Section 306 of the IPC.▪︎Directions for granting bail in 'Re Policy Strategy for Grant of Bail' case.▪︎Research on Section 50 of NDPS Act regarding non-compliance consequences.▪︎Observed and made case notes of the Supreme Court proceedings.
