  Fire Protection Engineer

  As a Fire Protection Engineer for the General Service Administration I work closely with other government agencies along with private contractors that perform work related to fire life safety systems on federal buildings located in Region 9 for GSA. I coordinate meetings and travel arrangements so that I can conduct fire life safety surveys and acceptance testing of all fire life safety systems. I write technical reports regarding plan submissions and acceptance testing and provide plan reviews for code compliance with respect to all fire life safety systems. I perform calculations and review specification for building compliance. I review and provide battery calculations, hydraulic calculations and fire alarm circuit voltage drop calculations. I have designed and reviewed fire alarm and fire sprinkler layouts and shop drawings. I act as the Fire Marshall for federal spaces issuing certificates of occupancy when all testing has been completed and is compliant with the International Building Code and NFPA standards. Show less
