      Chief Law Enforcement Official elected every four years. The responsibilities included preservation of the peace, administration of a 225 bed county detention center, service of criminal and civil process from the court, judicial security, and supervision of 107 employees of diverse backgrounds. Coordination and Collaboration with allied agencies, together with public and private partnerships. Additional responsibilities involved annual budget proficiency and the utilization of excellent communication skills in representing the agency privately and publicly. A full schedule of on-call availability beyond a typical work week with approximately 70 hours weekly. This position required knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights, occupational safety and health, human resource issues, and unionized labor relations/negotiations.
