      Jul 2014 - Aug 2017
      Genetic Counselor

Part of 9 GC team serving four sites in the Seattle area. Primarily worked as a solo counselor in outlying clinics. Counseled diverse patient populations with a wide range of indications, ethnicities, and socioeconomic statuses. Materials Development: Conducted reviews of current literature and created consult note templates for 15+ abnormal ultrasound findings, including discussion of risk and most appropriate test offerings. Resulting templates used by all prenatal genetic counselors in the Swedish system and reduced potential for litigation over missed information.Organizational: Developed a digital tracking system for outstanding lab results to automatically alert us of overdue orders and reduce clinic liability. Counseling: Provided prenatal and pre-conception counseling services to both high- and low-risk patients. Services included discussion of appropriate aneuploidy blood screening and diagnostic testing options, carrier screening, teratogen evaluation, and counseling on abnormal ultrasound findings.
