  Polarputki is a supplier of steel products for different industry sectors in Finland. At their facilities, steel pipes are being cut to size and stored, whereafter they are being delivered to the customers. My main tasks included sawing steel pipes and preparing product orders for delivery. The job required driving a forklift and using an overhead crane to move the products.

  The graduate program consists of four placements covering areas in Research & Development, Operations, Project Management and Business Development. During the first placement I worked on developing concepts for a pressure and temperature measuring instrument of hydronic systems. At my second placement I worked with a project to optimize material flow through the special machining department. The main tasks for me was to evaluate different options to invest in different types of CNC machines with the aim of reducing set-up time and WIP (Work In Process).At the third placement in Stockholm i developed a pricing tool software for the sales office. During the placement I learned a lot about pricing strategy and customer value thinking. At my fourth placement I worked as a project manager for different projects.
