  ABSTRACT: The Inner Niger Delta (IND), a wetland that was selected as an International Important Wetland under the Ramsar Convention (on February 1st, 2004) still can be considered a hotspot of biodiversity in the Sahel. The Niger River as the main source of water for the IND is also used for urban life and irrigation. Therefore, the sustainable use of water to ensure the environmental flow in the IND is under discussion. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of different models established with empirical (Artificial Neural Network and Regressions) or Conceptual Variable Source Area (Water Balance Method WBM) approaches. The result of evaluation and validation based on determination coefficient (R2), Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) and Nash-Sutcliffe Efficiency (NSE) show that all the models have good results however the Levenberg Marquardt Artificial Neural Network has the best fitting for validation and testing periods.   Mettre en oeuvre la stratégie d’utilisation des eaux du barrage de Markala en fonction de la demande- Elaborer et mettre en oeuvre les programmes d’entretien des infrastructures hydrauliques de base (barrage, ouvrages des Points A et B) et veiller à leur exécution correcte- Participer à l'élaboration des stratégies et des programmes de gestion d'eau et d’entretien du réseau primaire et des falas- Préparer les plans d'actions annuels et veiller à leur exécution correcte- Faire appliquer dans le réseau primaire les procédures et les méthodes opératoires d'exploitation et d'entretien du réseau et des ouvrages- Etablir et veiller au respect des côtes de consigne de l’eau dans le réseau primaire d’irrigation et de drainage- Suivre régulièrement l'efficience du réseau primaire et apporter un appui aux Zones- Suivre les travaux en matière de gestion de l'eau, d'entretien et de maintenance du réseau primaire- Assurer la maintenance courante du réseau primaire à travers une équipe mobile d’entretien- Suivre les travaux d’entretien du réseau primaire exécutés par les entreprises partenaires- Représenter l’Office du Niger dans la Commission nationale de gestion des eaux du Sélingué et les autres instances nationales de gestion des eaux du fleuve Niger par délégation du PDG- Prendre les mesures visant à respecter pendant l’étiage le débit conventionnel de 40 m3/s en aval du barrage de Markala- Veiller à l’alimentation régulière des bases de données en matière de gestion de l’eau, de maintenance et d'entretien- Assurer la sensibilisation des correspondants en matière de gestion du réseau primaire- Coordonner les activités relevant du service Show less
