The research involved communicating with local, non-native English speakers at the school and using food composition tables to help determine the nutritional value of school meals and make recommendations on how to make improvements.       I graduated at Leeds Trinity Univeristy with a first class BSc (Hons) Nutrition and Food degree and was awarded the Leeds University Armes award for my achievements whilst at university. My degree course has allowed me to gain a substantial knowledge of nutrition by covering a variety of modules including biochemistry, physiology, food culture, nutrition and health policies, eating disorders and a research project related to nutrition education within schools. Whilst at university I completed a novel research project which was creatively designed to help teach primary school children the key messages of the eatwell plate, helping them to understand which foods fall into the different categories.       This role allowed me to use creative and stimulating ideas to present ideas and deliver educational sessions on positive lifestyle behaviour to overweight and obese children and their families. Whilst in this role I experienced working with individuals from different cultures and backgrounds, individuals of different mental abilities and individuals with behavioural difficulties, adapting to a range of challenging situations. I was responsible for, and supported the team in both the physical activity and lifestyle sessions and was fully involved in collecting individuals’ body measurements. This role allowed me work successfully both as an individual and as a team player, negotiating effectively with external organisations to create successful partnerships and gaining knowledge of the operations of a private health company which operates in conjunction with the NHS.Here I also ensured the effective set up, implementation and evaluation of the MoreLife Clubs programme in line with the MoreLife model.
