      Daniel was nominated for the Chancellor's Medal for Excellence in PhD Research at Griffith University for his thesis which passed without revision. His doctorate researched the emerging field of virtual cinematography which is cinematography constructed through the use of a virtual camera and with virtual lighting to produce computer-generated-imagery.       WIN Television: Started as a trainee-director and then promoted to a director of live-television news. Directed and switched live-television news five days a week for Toowoomba, Wide-Bay and the Sunshine Coast stations. Managed a high-stress news environment with an extremely fast turnover and large crew. Also shot and directed regional television commercials on a daily basis. This included writing, directing, shooting and editing commercials with a high-rate of turnover.

      Griffith University Film School (South Bank Campus) - Taught Television Studio Production, this involved instructing in use of the studio and its specialised gear for the production of interview, magazine and drama programs. Also taught Cinematography which included basic camera work, lens use, exposure, colour, lighting and cinematic theory. This course used 16mm film cameras with no video split. The film was processed, developed and scanned at FotoKem Los-Angeles, U.S.A.

      JMC Academy (Southbank Campus) - Taught ‘Technical Futures,’ a course aimed at exploring the technical process of image making and capture in relation to new cameras and methods. This included new high-resolution cameras (RED, ARRI, SONY) and their production pathways. Daniel has personally used the RED and ARRI cameras on productions and so has a first-hand understanding of new technology and new methods.

      ‘Urban List’ (Web Advertising): Shot stills for the Urban List (casually) through-out 2013. Clients included mostly Brisbane local business’ such as clothing stores, restaurants, cafes and bars. My position included photographing and editing the stills down to a refined selection with colour-grade applied for delivery. Client liaison and guidance through direction and interpretation of a creative and commercial brief.

      SAE/QANTM College (Brisbane Campus) - Taught ‘Introduction to Cinematography’ and ‘Group Project’ (a course aimed at exploring the process of web-video production from corporates to commercials). This included basic cam- era work, lens use, exposure, colour, lighting and cinematic theory for cinematography. Group Project was a guided project from pitch to delivery aimed at producing a viable, budget conscious, quality web-ready commercial production.
