The goal of the program was to analyze and engage with American democratic institutions, both in their genesis and their possibilities. The program emphasized a constant need to be mentally agile, since the skill sets required from project to project varied drastically. One day we would prepare a Cincinnati public works project and another day, a white paper on democratic reforms in Tanzania. We were constantly editing papers, talking points, group research, public presentations, and speeches. Towards the end of each semester we juggled many different projects at the same time, both on our own, and in teams of varying sizes. It was all invigorating and fascinating, a real intellectual adventure that prepared me to face any new challenge with confidence. Show less
