      The Professional Standards Command, is our internal affairs area. As a dedicated corruption fighter, I was responsible as a senior investigator to investigate allegations of misconduct, crime and corruption of NSW Police Force personnel around the whole state. These investigations of misconduct, also included allegations of HR-based matters, including harassment and discrimination matters. Some Investigations were into allegations of serious organised crime and police misconduct and corruption, involving the criminal milieu.As a senior investigator, as well as a relieving Investigations Coordinator and Investigation Manager, I am thoroughly familiar with all aspects of the internal investigative process, from triage (intake assessments), allocation, investigation, reporting (comprehensive findings of the investigation), quality review and disciplinary processes. Show less Investigation of serious and organised drug crime and the investigation, intervention and dismantling of illicit clandestine drug laboratories throughout NSW. Undertook the role of site controller for the dismantling of illicit drug laboratories, as well as being an investigator into the diversion of precursor, glassware, equipment and chemicals used to manufacture prohibited drugs.Accepted as a judicial expert in drugs, drug code interpretation, and drug manufacture within the District Courts of NSW.Developed state-wide resource guides for first responders to clandestine drug laboratories, as well as being published within the Policing Issues and Practice Journal.       Officer in Charge of the Nambucca Valley sector of the Mid North Coast Police District. Provide specialist leadership as the Professional Standards District Inspector, encompassing all aspect of complaint (workplace) investigations and management. Previously provide the specialist leadership across the mental health, compliance (audit) portfolios. The Nambucca Valley area has three police stations, highway patrol and detectives, and covers 1,491 square kilometres (576 sq mi). Collaborating with the district's (command's) Senior Leadership Team to provide policing services to the community. Key liaison with the community and community groups on policing services. Appointed as the Local Emergency Operations Controller (LEOCON), to control the whole of government response to emergency/disaster incidents within the Nambucca Valley Local Government Area (LGA). Show less As the Crime Manager and Detective Inspector for the command, I am responsible for all operational investigative and crime prevention areas that respond to crime. This includes the strategic approach to reducing crime and generally making the community safer. I achieve this through working collaboratively with the command's senior management team, as well as other command leaders, whilst mentoring the front-line personnel.This requires strong leadership and management skill set to inspire our command personnel to take up the innovative and proactive strategies developed to fight crime. Oversight and manage all complex and serious investigations into all crimes, including homicide, drugs, fraud and property-based matters. Oversight and review the case management system for all investigations undertaken by the command's 192 sworn officers.Providing clear and concise advice to the command's senior management team and the commander, as well as our command's up-line requires strong networks and stakeholder engagement. This is needed internally as well as externally. Crime reduction is a clear political priority, and being astute in that environment is an advantageous skill that leads to success. As the command's crime spokesperson, professional media networks and relationships, communication skills and the desire to drive a positive message improves our engagement in the community.As the command’s central contact point and liaison for law enforcement organisations, I have strong personal and professional networks through Australia, as well as throughout APAC and into North America. Show less Temporary secondment and project as the District Inspector (Coffs/Clarence Police District) responsible for Compliance, Audit, Safety (Work Health and Safety) and Road (Traffic) Policing.Functions include the development of compliance and audit practices and systems to ensure the command's meets it requirements in the Command Management Framework (an internal formalised compliance and auditing system).       LEOCON (Local Emergency Operations Controller)

      Working under the authority of the State Emergency Rescue Management (SERM) Act (NSW) as LEOCON (Local Emergency Operations Controller) for the Kempsey EOC (Emergency Operations Centre). Working in tandem to control and lead the whole of government response to the Kempsey floods due to over 800mm of rain falling over three days. Led the response to assist in:- major rescue operations- resupplying isolated communities (in excess of 7,000 people) with essential items- use of powers under the SERM Act declaring a Danger Area for a local community and leading the forced evacuation of the affected area. Then coordinating and leading the relief operations working closely with all government agencies, as well as the Australian Defence Force to restore communities to normality.Despite all the grandeur, it was a self-led high performance team, working in tandem with committed professionals, professional volunteers, and a community that did the heavy lifting.
