    • Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom

      Jul 1984 - Oct 1984
      Food Service Worker

My first job!! I was hired to work in the Waffle & Ice Cream Stand and would volunteer to go ANYWHERE in the park to learn new skills! I really enjoyed working and the pay gave me an opportunity to travel to Mexico after my first season. I learned how to work well with others and deal with the public one-on-one.

    • Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom

      Apr 1985 - Oct 1985
Food Service promoted to Assistant Stand Supervisor

Seasonal - Worked at the Waffles & Ice Cream Stand (where the former Columbo Yogurt - - and today where the outdoor stage/band stand is located). My second season there I became Shawn's Assistant in Food Fest located just across from the Sea Dragon. I ended my Dorney Culinary Career waitressing at "The Eat to Win" restaurant up at the former entrance to the original WildWater Kingdom.

    • Allied Temporary at Dun's Marketing Services

      Jul 1987 - Jan 1988
File Clerk promoted to Data Entry Operator

My first Office working experience. It gave me a different view of what I might like to do in the future.

    • American Red Cross

      Jan 1988 - Apr 1989
      Educational Services Assistant

As a current Volunteer CPR Instructor I was hired as staff to organize public and private CPR and First-Aid classes throughout the Lehigh Valley. I would schedule and get Volunteers to teach as well as some Per Diem Instructors to go into businesses to teach CPR and First-Aid. I really enjoyed working there - - we were at 1244 Hamilton St, right in my old stomping ground since I grew up in the 200 Block of North Madison Street.

    • Kelly Temp Services at Dun's Marketing Services

      Apr 1989 - Nov 1989
Customer Service Representative promoted to National Collector

Worked through a Temp Agency then hired by the company in November 1989

    • Dun's Marketing Services

      Nov 1989 - Aug 1991
      National Collector

Hired by the Company directly November 1989, but had to leave when my father became ill and daycare for two small children was financially impossible. This job gave me the opportunity to firmly establish that I really enjoyed the dynamics of being employed in an office setting and that it was the correct place for me to be. I also had the wonderful opportunity to meet and work with Paula and Carol, who are two of the best people that I have ever met in my life.

    • Family House - Drug & Alcohol Rehab

      Feb 1993 - Apr 1994
      Daycare Supervisor

Infant/Toddler day care for a facility that houses women and their children while the women are in Drug/Alcohol Addiction Rehabilitation. I really enjoyed the many smiling faces and liked seeing the children visit the center for weekly Alumni nights. May those children, parents and caregivers continue to live healthy and productive lives (many of the children probably now have children of their own)...

    • Dunkin Donuts

      Sept 1994 - Jun 1995
      Counterperson

Day shift - - I would hoof it about a mile to pour coffee, serve pastries and make sandwiches. It was actually one of my favorite jobs. You never take it home with you and people were mostly happy to see you!

    • Bureau of Recycling and Solid Waste

      Jan 1999 - Jan 2002
Community Outreach Worker for Clean Allentown Campaign

On contract as an Outreach Worker - I advised citizens how and to recycle. I did checks of trash and dumpsters to assess if citizens and entities were recycling properly. Some of you might remember me giving out brooms and dustpans near Little Apple Market. I had a great team of volunteers, Doris and Mike were my right and left hands during that time and really helped!! I enjoyed meeting people and assisting them during clean-ups and helping to organize them as well! It was a lot of fun! Nothing like getting DOWN AND DIRTY with some trash. Gotta have a good nose for it... Show less

    • U.S. Census Bureau

      Dec 1999 - Jun 2000
      Office Operations Supervisor - Recruiting

I started as a phone clerk for Census 2000. Within my first week I was offered the position of Office Operations Supervisor Recruiting (OOSR) due to developing a computer database for the Recruiting Field Staff. I really enjoyed being an Office Supervisor and had a lot of great people working with me. I remember that we had cardboard desks, a lot of phone work & contests! I also recall just how dedicated everyone was to their job and making sure that we got enough qualified employees to make as accurate a count in our community as possible!! Show less

    • American Medical Staffing

      Jan 2001 - Dec 2003
      Staffing Assistant

Calling Medical Staff (CNAs, LPNs, RNs) to replace staff who called off sick. It was a great job and I had wonderful co-workers who I still miss...it was a great opportunity for me to work an early shift then a late shift and in between get some of the necessary work done for my campaign. I really enjoyed working there and am grateful for all of their support to help reach my goal!
