  Geo-Environmental Engineer

  Completed a 6 week period of work experience as an intern in one of the Countries leading environmental consultancy companies. My responsibilities included liaising with clients, and visiting various sites around the North of England conducting geotechnical studies of land. During this period I oversaw rotary drilling, percussion drilling and completed a series of trial pits at various sites. I worked closely with the drillers and managed to build good relations with them. I completed rounds of gas monitoring on sites and also completed my own inundation tests as well as spending time using GIS software that was needed in a project. Spent time working with Hydrogeologists and went on site to conduct groundwater monitoring using equipment such as a dip meters and used this data to build a hydrogeological map of the area.   A graduate hydrogeologist with Arcadis UK within the hydrogeology and land quality team, I worked on a variety of projects involving contaminated land and water resource hydrogeology. I hope to develop skills gained through my undergraduate and masters to get a good all round grounding in aspects of hydrogeology and land quality as well as working towards chartership with the geological society with the aim of becoming a fully chartered geologist within the next few years. Currently on secondment within the site investigation team gaining experience of ground investigation techniques. Show less
