  1. Developing machine learning algorithm for detection of long-noncoding RNA.In this project, I have used several sequence-based features such as coding potential and nucleotide arrangements proposed to distinguish between coding and non-coding transcripts. I perform a systematic assessment of a wide collection of features extracted from sequence data in this work. The aim is to detect signatures able to distinguish long non-coding transcripts from protein-coding and non-coding. I evaluate different feature selection algorithms, test for signature stability, and evaluate the prediction ability with a machine learning algorithm such as support vector machine, random forest, logistic regression, k-nearest neighbors algorithm.2. Developing machine learning algorithm to detect cancer type by using cfDNA. In this ongoing project, I am using a machine learning approach to discover signatures in cfDNA, developing and implementing a computational approach for representing and learning associations between cfDNA profiles and cancer status.
