      Comendador da Ordem do Rio Branco Brazilian Government May 2013 This award was a result of a recommendation by the former Ambassador of Brazil to Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi, Her Excellency Ana Maria Fernades Sampaio, for my services towards education and poverty alleviation in Africa. The "Comendador da Ordem do Rio Branco" is a prestigious award made in memory of the Baron of Rio Branco, the Father of Diplomacy in Brazil. Her suggestion was well received by Her Excellency the president of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff, who admitted me as Comendador by a… Show more This award was a result of a recommendation by the former Ambassador of Brazil to Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi, Her Excellency Ana Maria Fernades Sampaio, for my services towards education and poverty alleviation in Africa. I received the Cross of the Ordem and a printed State Commendation in a ceremony at the Brazilian Embassy in Nairobi on the 5th of September 2013. This award is similar to the award of Lordship in the UK or the Elder of the Burning Spear in Kenya. Show less
