  As president of the Phoenix Asian American Leos Club, the largest LEO club in Arizona, I lead biweekly meetings and coordinate community service initiatives for over 30 youth members. Key projects I have overseen include reviewing optical prescriptions of 10,000 corporate-donated eyeglasses per month, and assembling and distributing over 300 relief supply packs to underserved populations across Arizona, Mexico, the Philippines, and Vietnam. Through event planning, fundraising, public speaking, and managing club affairs, I have strengthened my leadership abilities.   As the Region II President for SkillsUSA Arizona, I worked closely with fellow regional officers to plan leadership conferences and technical competitions for around 600 attendees. In this role, I also assist with organizing the SkillsUSA Arizona State Leadership and Skills Conference, which hosts 5,000 members statewide. Leading regional meetings and initiatives has allowed me to develop strong public speaking, project management, and teamwork skills.   Research Mentee

  As a research mentee with The Copula Program, I was mentored by engineering graduates and postdoctoral fellows from Columbia University and the University of Michigan to better understand the field of engineering and study the effect of magnetic field strength on rotating magnetic field (RMF) thrusters. Because of this program, I am currently embarking on my research project where I am using a model Lorentz force accelerator to analyze how variations in magnetic field intensity impacts propulsion. This opportunity allowed me to gain hands-on engineering research experience and apply my knowledge of physics concepts. I developed my skills in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific writing. Show less
