  Worked virtually with Dr. Carabetta at Rowan University for the past year. Learned about many aspects of her research, including bacterial lysine acetylation, bacterial protein acetylation, and bacterial sporulation. Visited her lab at the Cooper Medical School to learn about research procedures and equipment. Analyzed datasets of DNA-binding genes in Bacillus subtilis using the R programming language. Graphed and performed statistical tests on nucleoid area measurements of different bacteria species. Currently analyzing datasets of DNA-binding genes in Bacillus subtilis and genetic mutations in Acinetobacter baumannii strains. Show less

  Research Assistant

  Created a data science research project and poster on how pesticides in biofilms affect the richness of benthic invertebrates. Presented findings at the UT Summer Research Scholars Poster Session to UT Austin professors and peers. Learned about microbiology, how to conduct scientific research, and how to use R in advanced statistics. Collaborated daily with Dr. Ruth Shear during the process of creating the research project.

  Working with human vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) to determine the effects of increased mitochondrial FAT1 Cadherin expression on VSMC proliferation. Under the mentorship of Dr. Dario Riascos Bernal in the Sibinga Lab at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Currently helping the lab publish a review paper focused on FAT1 Migration.
