To use local domestic washing machine and tumble dryer for any ad hoc cleaning of coats. Prepare standard solutions, sterile media and items for laboratory classes, and research, and assist with the preparation and clearing of science laboratory classes. Use and monitor and resolves faults with equipment and services to autoclave and glass washing facilities.  Undertake routine cleaning and basic maintenance of specialist equipment e.g. microscopes and automated pipettes, carrying out repairs when appropriate or reporting defects in the prescribed manner. Coordinate the collection or delivery of supplies or samples to, or from, local suppliers.  Build and maintain good working relationships with technical team leaders, colleagues as well as academic programme staff, managers and infrastructure personnel. Clean specialist areas such as laboratories including bench surfaces simulation areas and clinical practice rooms when required. Be responsible for your own health and safety, and to understand how the work environment impacts on your work and able to take standard actions in accordance with the University's health and safety policy and guidelines.
