      My role within the Mothers’ Union is to coordinate and liaise with our country teams in DR Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Sudan and South Sudan, Ethiopia and Indian Ocean. My work involves up to 12 weeks travel/ year to my respective regions. I manage a variety of country programmes implemented with strong coordination from our grassroots membership which requires hinges upon communication skills. The country programmes that I manage include: • Over the last 2 years, we have created 1000 local Village Savings & Loans Associations for women across Rwanda, which are successfully empowering women to take the develop themselves, their families and their communities• Adult literacy and Community Mobilisation in 10 location sites across DR Congo. • In Indian Ocean has been focused on organisational capacity building and strategic planning based on a 3 country theory of change model.• Adult literacy & Development Programme in Ethiopia, where I have been working with South Sudanese refugees, both in host communities and refugee camps. I also manage the Relief programmes of the Mothers’ Union, currently, we are involved in a three-year consortium-led programme in South Sudan which has responded to the evolving needs of the local communities. As well as supporting small grants to grassroots organisations in Rwanda, Burundi and Myanmar and Madagascar over the past year. We are pioneering new approaches to providing disaster preparedness and supporting post-disaster recovery support. Show less
