Part of my role was to maintain the cleanliness of the bar, front of house, beer gardens and toilets. Adherence to all aspects of licensing law, trading standards, food hygiene, and health and safety is vital. I demonstrated excellent customer service skills, I was professional and well presented - able to communicate clearly with people at all levels.   With my fellow Sabbatical Officers we represent the 20,000 students at Christ Church to both internal and external stakeholders. I have promoted and defended the rights of all students through lobbying, campaigning and negotiating with the University and other agencies. As a team we work hard to meet the student’s needs and work to a high standard. This year I have ran campaigns around education and welfare matters to raise awareness and to empower and improve the lives of other students. I have worked alongside the Unions strategic plan to ensure growth and development. As a Trustee of CCSU I have ensured that Christ Church Students’ Union acts in accordance with its charitable objects, constitution and other guiding documents and, in particular, remains true to its Mission, Vision and Values. As a team we have ensured that the Union complies with all relevant legislation and regulations, including relevant charity acts and education acts. Together with staff and students we have ensured that the Union does not undertake activities that put its financial stability, members or reputation at undue risk. Show less

  Student Voice Coordinator (Academic Representation)

  The purpose of my role within this organisation is to develop, coordinate and strengthen a strong and vibrant Student Academic Representative community throughout the University, providing clear routes of communication from and to Representatives for both the Students' Union and the University.Other responsibilities include:• Establishing a working relationship with the University’s academic partners to ensure student voice is being gathered from members studying off-site. • Devising, coordinating and delivering training to student representatives, ensuring that they are equipped to understand their role and how University structures work • Assisting the Education Committee and Sabbatical team in responding to consultations/policy in regards to Higher Education from either University/funding bodies/regulatory agency or to government departments (e.g. QAA, HEFCE, NUS) • Constructing and implementing reward and recognition systems for student representatives to promote best practice, encourage rep engagement and boost rep recruitment• Producing the annual Academic Review report and empowering Sabbatical Officers to present findings and recommendations to the University• Working with the Member Development Manager (Voice) to implement approaches aimed to empower and enable students who are under-represented, or face barriers to participation in, the student representation system• Ensuring adherence to related bye-law and policies regarding the democratic recruitment of student representatives Show less
