  ROLE DESCRIPTION:Engineering responsible for all AvK synchronous alternators up to 11000 kVA with multiple pole options:4, 6, 8, 10 and voltages from 400 V up to 13.8 kV. Show less ROLE DESCRIPTION:Create optimized design concepts and design specifications for synchronous alternators considering application, cost, weight, performance, reliability, durability, manufacturing, assembly, and serviceability.RESPONSIBILITIES:- Electromagnetic design engineer for Low, Medium and High Voltage AvK® alternators.- Working on multiple projects simultaneously with minimum supervision- Select the most appropriate alternator: type, topology and size to answer customers' needs including: size, weight, cost, reliability- Conduct electromagnetic design and performance calculations.2D CAD drafting through AutoCAD for EM/ Electrical design components: core packs, windings, terminal boxes, windings/ wiring diagram, AVR and control system.- Create engineering drawings and specifications for: lamination core packs, windings, coils and insulation systems, wiring diagrams.- Thermal evaluation of alternator wound components based on the heat run test results.- Liaise with other functions: configuration, mechanical design, sourcing, manufacturing to ensure system requirements and performance is delivered.- Conduct and prepare design reviews and provide periodic updates.- Participate in investigations and undertake analysis where necessary to resolve system performance issues.- Provide technical expertise and assistance to other functions.
