      Various positions in design engineering, service support, international technology transfer including a one year assignment in Hong Kong in 1995.• Project manager for team of contract engineers tasked with customizing equipment to meet the specifications of a five-year, $500 million contract with the US Navy. Worked with the team seven days a week and met the three-month deadline to ship the initial $10 million order.• System engineer that developed a 400Hz, 80kW uninterruptible power supply (UPS). Used technical support experience to design in new diagnostic features. Solved a major vendor component problem so shipments could resume.• Managed a technology transfer team that determined the requirements for products targeted for expansion into overseas markets and assured compliance with technical and regulatory requirements. Oversaw technology transfers to, and technical training for, joint ventures in France, Japan and India resulting in new products that generated millions in sales in new markets. • While based in Hong Kong, provided technical and sales support in the Asia-Pacific region. Guided the development team to a novel solution that resolved the technical issues, reduced the size of the device and resulted better acceptance in the key Japanese market. Development budget: $500K. • Updated the software of a body mass measurement instrument for ImpediMed to meet regulatory compliance and add new features. Development budget: $300K.• Developed a low cost, portable ophthalmology instrument for the Lions Eye Institute for use in remote areas and third-world countries. As a result of demonstrating the technology a large European ophthalmic company purchased the technology.• Built the medical device market for Invetech from no projects to $500K annual revenue in five years of part-time business development efforts. Landed a medical instrument project that was marketed by bioMerieux that resulted in $10m in development revenue over 2 years and ongoing manufacturing revenue for an automated agar plate streaking instrument. Responsible for managing all technical disciplines (software, electronics, mechanical and industrial design), budget, schedule and client management. Development budget: $5,000K.• Designed enclosures for video recording products used to put university lectures on-line. Managed the development of factory functional test fixtures and assisted with the transfer to manufacture. Saved a client $70K in tooling by recommending a alternative user interface design.
