  Aided in Ohio State's Freshman honors engineering courses for over a year as a Teaching Assistant for the College of Engineering. While the main focus of the curriculum was to teach programming skills in MATLAB, C, and C++ as well as engineering lab technique and writing skills, the most important part of this job was being there for students as they transitioned into their first semesters of college.   R&D Co-op

  At Ethicon I was apart of an R&D team in the middle of the design process, just prior to design verification testing, for a surgical medical device. An unsolved issue with the device I was put in charge of solving was the plastic cable jacket that had a tearing issue. This required fixtures to be built for extensive testing and re-testing and diagnosing and ended with my recommendation to the team on how to fix the issue moving forward. Amongst that project I designed a test method for use in DVT that dealt with measuring the water suction flowrate of the device. As you can imagine anything dealing with water and repeatable experiments causes headaches, but thankfully I was able to battle the odds of experimental variables and leave the team with a successful DVT method.   R&D Intern

  I interned on GP's Internet of Things project team in R&D and was exposed to the possibilities of the future as they apply to the paper industry as a whole. Utilizing Tableau, I produced data visualizations for communication purposes to VP's and other R&D teams. I also planned and executed an install process at a test site of this new technology. On the side, I coordinated and ran a consumer test for use of gaging potential customer interest in a new paper product.

  I was a member of the Golf Ball R&D team. My main project was designing a GUI for the replacement of their current ITR software programs utilizing MATLAB. This saved the team $10,000 because they didn't need to purchase new equipment. I also conducted research into the validity of radar technology as it pertains to R&D applications through work with TrackMan and FlightScope.
