  Footballclub instructor & assistant football coach

  I worked as a football club instructor in different groups of 4-6 years old children. My colleague instructor and I planned the lessons and executed them together. I learned a lot about working with children, teamwork and the planning of instruction. I also worked as an assistant football coach in different junior teams of girls which gave me new insights on coaching as a former football player myself.

  I worked in different events in different positions that included working for example as a stage hostess and in ticket sales. As a stage hostess I took care of a certain stage during the day by hosting the speakers, introducing them to the audience, setting their displays on the screen and managing the timetables of the presentations of the day.

  I got even more responsibility of the whole project and the team members as I began working as the team lead. This began as soon as we got funding from STEA (Funding Centre for Social Welfare and Health Organisations) to continue our work in the new CV työelämään -project (2020-2022). Responsibilities included:- Designing the whole project- Leading the operation's of the team- Creating new peer activities (e.g. short-term modules to reach more potential youth)- Relationship management with different groups such as schools, the steering group and different employers- Main responsibility of the funding application and evaluation process - Participation in budgeting- Recruitment and training of new team members such as instructors and trainees Show less I got my own project, CV työelämään (OKM), which made me a project coordinator. The project aimed at developing new ways for youth with immigrant backgrounds to integrate better in study and work-life in Finland. It was a pilot project in which we created a guide for organizing such activities. Responsibilities included:- Working as a team with an instructor and trainees in two different cities (Helsinki & Tampere)- Taking a lead in everyday actions- Designing new (peer) activities for the youth (such as job shadowing)- Designing and implementing a mentor training program (incl. recruitment of the mentors)- Participating in the funding application and evaluation process- Creating a model / publication for others to utilize when endorsing youth's pathways to work-life (see more in my publications) Show less After the internship I continued to work in the Muuttajat! -project. The project aims to enhance immigrants youth's knowledge about making a difference in the society and also the courage to take part in different civil activities. I got to facilitate e.g. groups that aimed to discuss societal matters in groups whose members are in the process of learning the Finnish language. I also started to instruct youth in a project called Matkalla, where the participants focus on building their future life and skills through three themes: studying, work life and leisure time. I ended up working mostly for this project, and I gained more responsibility due to the long-lasting cooperation with the same groups. I got to work with youth and their families, school staff and other associates, and participate in designing and organizing educational and inspirational gatherings. Show less My main task was to coordinate small mentoring groups that consisted of instructor volunteers and the group participants in a project called Muuttajat!. The project’s aim is to enhance the participation of youth with immigrant backgrounds in the society. Coordination included e.g. forming the groups with my supervisor, communication with the group members and evaluation of the groups’ success e.g. by interviewing the volunteers. During my internship I learned a lot about working in a nonprofit organization. I also learned about the field of immigration and youth work and what it means to work in a pilot project. The best things about my internship were that I got to meet great people, learn a lot and work in an enthusiastic and encouraging working environment. Show less
