  As part of the Quality Department, I handled several projects during my employment at this co-op opportunity.- Designed and pitched an automated pipe-cutting contraption that would allow easy and safe access for the technicians to cut open heated parts according to their needs, removing a major safety hazard while lowering the difficulty of the task.-Created, edited and organized work instructions/company databases for new parts that were being released into the production stream; Gathered key pieces of information such as material, stock and special requirements from multiple sources in both the plant floor and in the office.-Conducted several tests such as Impact Test, Crush Test, Joint Tightness Test, Burst Test and Oven Test, while leading routine audits around the lab and plant floor.   Positioned in the Factory of the Future,- Worked on transitioning the factory floor into complete automation, leading projects that incorporated multi-axis robots, automatic ground vehicles, machining cells and metallurgical labs.- Re-designed, quoted and implemented the pneumatic blow-out box/pre-dresser tanks for post-production cleansing, freeing up motion flexibility for the gantry, increasing oil blow-off rates and greatly reducing noise levels on the floor.- Designed/Tested a welded insert for a cooling channel in the manifold, increasing corrosion resistance by 150%. Once completed, led a full examination process incorporating Scanning Electron Microscopes, Laser Confocal Microscopes, and Thermal Cameras to determine if fit for new lines of production.- Participated in developing a fully automated AGV pathing program to retrieve, refurbish and replace used tool ends for every robot cell.- Planned, set up and initiated a robot training cell which is to be used for future students in learning the multi axis robot arms; went through area scanning, PSRs, DCS zone programming, etc. Show less
