I lived an amazing time in Liverpool; the city I believe will forever be my favourite, and the University was excellent too. I've always had so many interests that I couldn't have imagined doing anything other than a combined honours degree. I started out with maths, which I did really well at by the end of the first year, but I realised I'd rather have the opportunity to improve my musicianship and so swapped subjects. While learning ancient Greek for my degree, I had a transcendental experience with the scouse dialect which allowed me to understand grammar in a new way: one that facilitates learning and allows for maximal choice, efficiency, and accuracy. In my dissertation I wrote about the communicative nature of old-school jungle by examining music theory from a linguistic perspective. I also learned to tune pianos and have devised my own method that tempers the strings to the music to be played, instead of equal temperament. Show less
