  As the Manager, Industrial Credit attached to Project Finance Division of the Bank, I reported to the Chief Manager, Project Finance. I was in charge of a business unit with the responsibility of overall supervision of two Account Relationship Managers assigned to this unit. I was in charge of a portfolio of facilities amounting to USD 40 Mn worth of large medium size projects (client base of 50 projects). The portfolio included sectors such as health, leisure, construction/real estate development, food and beverages, etc. Areas covered included Primary investigation on prospective clients via interviewing, obtaining status reports, customer visits, analysis of existing business operations of clients etc. Thereafter, I conducted a detailed financial analysis of the proposed projects and performed a comprehensive risk analysis on other qualitative areas such as management, marketing, Industry/environment, legal and identification / implementation of Risk mitigating factors.Prepared and Pre–approved the review of facility applications; Monitored and followed up on facilities approved, utilization of working capital lines / disbursement of loans, repayments; carried out quarterly and annual reviews, monitored compliance of conditions and covenants and assessed temporary requirements.Periodically carried out a SWOT analysis of different sectors and updated management on changes in environment, market demand & supply conditions and other trends.   Worked as Manager, Credit Risk in the Risk Management Division of the Bank, reporting to the Deputy General Manager – Risk Management Division. Primary responsibility was to carry out a comprehensive pre-approval review of credit applications of OMR 100K and above, to evaluate the level of various risks that the proposal/Borrower carries, including the risks in areas of financial, business, performance, management, credit, compliance, legal etc. The Bank had approximately 500 Corporate and Mid-Sector Customers enjoying facilities over OMR 100KReviewed proposals involving write-off/waiver which had an outstanding over OMR 50K.Developed polices on risk areas in line with the requirements of the Central Bank of Oman. Policies prepared during the year included Credit Risk Management Policy, Risk Rating/Pricing framework, and a Loan review mechanism. In addition, I provided guidance and support to the business units for the effective implementation of these policies.Reviewed reports submitted by all divisions, monitored compliance with policies and prepared/submitted consolidated reports to the management.   Senior Relationship Manager - Corporate Banking / Project Finance and Loan Syndication

  I joined National Bank of Oman in February 2010 as a Relationship Manger attached to Corporate Banking and managed a portfolio of large business relationships engaged in Manufacturing, Construction and Contacting and Trading.Since June 2015, I was entrusted the responsibility of Senior Manager, Project Financing and Loan Syndications. I managed 28 syndicated credit facilities / accounts with exposures ranging from US$ 35Mn to US$ 200Mn. Of this portfolio, NBO acted as the Lead Arranger or Security Agent in 12 syndications. (Project Finance & Loan Syndication unit is part of the Corporate Banking Division of NBO).My Portfolio under project finance consisted of manufacturing (primarily in steel and aluminum), oil and gas (refineries and drilling, electricity distribution, mining, hotels and shipping. This division was headed by a Unit Head reporting to DGM – Corporate Banking and consisted of one Senior Relationship Manager, two Relationship Managers and one Credit Analyst. I deputized the Unit Head in his absence. Prior to moving to the Project Finance & Loan Syndication unit, I managed approximately 40 borrowing accounts of corporate clients (annual Sales of US$ 15Mn and above). This included assessing short term and long-term financing needs of clients (Capex / operational requirements / project specific lines / foreign exchange / trade finance and ancillary banking) and supporting the financial requirements within the guidelines / risk appetite of the Bank.   As AGM Corporate Banking, I report to DGM – Wholesale Banking Group whilst deputizing for him in his absence. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide leadership and strategic direction to the Bank’s Corporate Banking Division (CB) with a portfolio of USD 1.25Bn, Project Finance Division (PF) with a portfolio of USD 500Mn and Emerging Corporate Division (EC) with a portfolio of USD 200Mn and to manage the business development and operational activities of CB, PF and EC Divisions. AGM – Corporate Banking is responsible for ensuring the development of new business relationships as well as growth of the Asset and Liability Portfolios and ensuring asset quality.
