Shipyard in Victoria. I also worked on a previous phase of the project from January 1993 to April 1993.

      I supervised archaeological excavations at several sites along a proposed highway building scheme across the Isle of Anglesey in northwestern Wales. I also conducted topographical site surveying with a TOPCON theodolite. I downloaded and processed survey data to produce archaeological site maps. The sites excavated dated from the Bronze Age to the late Medieval Period.

      I surveyed and recorded archaeological remains in coastal habitats and in forest habitats in the provincial interior. I performed tree coring and plant identification. I recorded culturally modified trees (CMT). Working in the field alongside members of the Secwepemc First Nation and W̱sáneć First Nation in geographically remote areas of British Columbia, I benefited from their traditional knowledge of the local area as we shared relevant skills.

      At the Ptolemaic-Roman archaeological site of Berenike (Egypt) located on the Red Sea coast, I trained and supervised up to 15 people, including members of the local Ababda tribe and American university students, in archaeological excavation and recording methods. I was part of an international team of specialists, led by American and Dutch directors. I created stratigraphic matrices of the excavation profiles I excavated and wrote reports on my findings. I also took part in the archaeological field survey in the Red Sea Mountains. The results of my excavation of Trenches BE00-35 and BE00-40 in the Ptolemaic era industrial zone appear in the publication by S.E. Sidebotham and W. Wendrich, 2001-2002.       Phase III of the Tafila-Busayra Archaeological Survey took place in western Jordan in 2001. The goal was to characterize and plot the location of all significant archaeological ruins in the area. My contribution was to create accurate top plans and section drawings of the ruins at each site visited, which are published in the Annual of the Department of Antiquities of Jordan, v. 46 (2002) and in the following book.

Part of my lasting contribution to the Licences and Permits Division were the standard lines I constructed for use in correspondence with clients, and the survey, which I formulated, of plant varieties to be produced by applicants. I also established collaboration with other divisions to ensure adherence to such legislation as the Plant Breeders’ Rights Act. Show less

      I acted as a link between the Federal Court and litigants seeking judicial review of decisions by over 100 federal tribunals, commissions and regulatory bodies in Canada. I listened to and broke down clients' concerns and inform them about the relevant rules and procedures that allow them to access justice in the Federal Court. A central part of my job involved filing documents submitted by parties to legal proceedings in accordance with a complex set of rules created by the Court. In advance of hearings, I prepared legal dossiers for judges and then I attended court to register new evidence and run the audiovisual recording system. I worked on-site, hybrid, and remotely in this role. Show less

The IAAC contributes significantly to informed government decision-making on projects with the aim of mitigating effects while reducing uncertainty and supporting sustainable development.
